Widyatama University is under protection of Yayasan Widyatama. Yayasan Widyatama at first called Yayasan Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Akuntansi Bandung (YPPAB) which born in Bandung on 3rd January 1973 by initiative from Dra. Koesbandijah Abdoel Kadir(last Prof. Dr. Hj. Koesbandijah Abdoel Kadir, M.S, Ak. Position’s is as Head of Management Widyatama Foundation and now she was pass away). This foundation carry out to Institut Akuntansi Bandung (IAB) with S-1 of accounting.
In 1977 changed its name to Foundation YPPAB education and teaching accounting and corporate management bandung. the name change is in line with the addition of a course management company in 1976 run by the institute management Bandung ( IMB ) and further , IAB and IMB changed its name to Sekolah Tinggi Akuntansi dan Manajemen Perusahaan Bandung (STAMPB). Therefore YPPAB which protecting to IAB and IMB change its name to YPPAMPB which protecting to STAMPB. In 1979 the name of foundation is change to Yayasan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Bandung (YASTIEB) and manage Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Bandung (STIEB) with accounting and management study program.
Keep abreast of the needs and the development of his own foundation , in 1993 the name changed into foundation Widyatama foundation . This foundation manages the high school in the field of economic, technical and language , visual communication design and program Widyatama MM , as well as the accounting profession program ( PPA ) . in addition, Widyatama foundation also manages the institution development and application of science which provides services to students and others who need to develop and apply science in society . The fourth high school and MM program start date of 1 August 2001 has changed the status of a university Widyatama jl.cikutra no.204a located in Bandung , with a campus area of approximately 50000 square meters.
